Charlie Manna album covers

Charlie Manna (1920-1971) was a very funny Italian American comedian who was popular throughout the sixties but is sadly forgotten today...

His legacy is several great album covers: The first "Manna Overboard" from 1961, featured these fun, quirky background cartoons by an artist unknown to me:

The second "The Rise & Fall of a Great Society" from 1966, is by the one and only Jack Davis...

"Manna-Live!"... well two out of three ain't bad.

  1. Thanks for that. Charlie Manna looked just like my Dad, but sang a good deal better. I barely remember him, and usually confuse him with Pat Cooper. My folks saw them both perform standup back in the day. One of them (probably Manna) told the following joke:

Two Italians sitting on a dock overlooking the sea.
The first Italian says: "Is that a U-boat?"
The second one answers: "No. 'Atsa not-a MY boat!"

That joke is funny after a couple bottles of Chianti, but then anything would be.
